Vision for the Green Infrastructure of Badhoevedorp, Netherlands, 2012

Studio Bloem assisted in the creation of a Vision and Strategy for the Green Infrastructure of Badhoevedorp. The main drivers for this visioning document were the re-location of the A9 motorway, the expanding population pressures from the Amsterdam City Region and the need to safeguard and promote the Green Infrastructure in this area.

The key aim of the document is to establish the principle of the Blue-Green Ribbon, a pedestrian and cyclist route through the centre of Badhoevedorp set in a green environment and supported by a new canal. Further it offers an analysis of the existing Green Infrastructure and the required amount and location of future Green Spaces to meet the predicted population growth.
